  • Police in San Jose, California are searching cross country for the man driving a black SUV with Virginia tags who's suspected of tossing a woman's dog to his death in traffic. After a fender bender, an irate driver reached in and grabbed Sara McBurnett's dog, Leo, and threw him into oncoming traffic where he was run over.   • When the sheriff flashed his blue lights at the parked car on lovers' lane, the startled driver hit the gas and drove right into the frigid Potomac River near Washington. Jeremy Allen and Regina Lindsey were rescued clinging to their submerged car in 35-degree water in February. It was midnight; he didn't know the road led to the river. They were cold and embarrassed.
